engineering model of Newcomen engine for display in the London Science Museum. Fully machined, brass, copper, timber reconstruction, not live steam.

An unusual engineering project for us - this is a reconstruction of the Newcomen engine. The model is a faithful replica of a 250 year old experimental model and is now on display in the London Science Museum. The engine is non-working, but uses all the correct materials. Traditional machining and turning skills were supplemented by the use of computer machining and water-cutting.
